Hi, I am Janice Tarquin, Executive Team Leader and Independent Designer with Origami Owl. I live in Oro Valley, Arizona just outside Tucson. I am a wife, stepmom, “glam-ma” and own the cutest Labradoodle, Molly (or maybe she owns me!)
After leaving the 8 to 5 working world behind I found that I wanted and needed a job, but it had to be flexible. In January of 2012, I saw Origami Owl lockets for the first time and I knew I wanted to be involved with the company. I had never held one in my hand, but I knew they were going to be part of my future! I jumped in with both feet and became a Designer. I’ve never looked back. Seeing women’s stories come alive through our charms, and a personalized back plate, or just creating a unique piece of jewelry is often touching and very rewarding. It is just hearing people’s stories, just in a different way. What locket stories women create for themselves can be anything from dreams for the future to honoring someone who was a big part of their lives in the past. They tell stories about hopes, dreams, memories, pets, hobbies, and family and holiday memories. Everyone has a story to share, and I love hearing them.
Am I a “salesperson?” No. I am a person who loves spending time with family and friends, traveling and creating an occasional crafting disaster. I love holding a Jewelry Bar, or attending an event and telling people how Origami Owl can be a great “side gig,” help make new friends and acquaintances and be a part of a company that believes in being a force for good….not selling. Being with a young, fast-growing, and very successful company like Origami Owl is exciting and brings income into our household (my husband loves that part!) I am in a great place and time of life, and am enjoying it all with the help of Origami Owl.
